Momentum Series

Double-Cone Blenders

RAPID, LOW-IMPACT MIXING AT ITS BEST

The Momentum Series Double-Cone Blender sets the industry standard for batch mixing with minimal maintenance. Tumble blending offers rapid, low-impact mixing – highly beneficial for abrasive solids and semi-dry materials. The revolving mixing action promotes highly uniform mixes, and is the mixing equipment of choice for materials with trace components, such as flavorings for coffee beans or drink mixes. The Double-Cone Blender is often used for coffees, teas, pharmaceuticals, glass, and ceramic mixing, and its configuration can include load cells to weigh incoming materials for high-precision blends.

Sanitary design: no internal moving parts; constructed with food-grade materials and available in high-grit finishes

Optional features such as intensifiers provide fast and thorough de-lumping

Easy discharge and drainage

Considerations for operator safety, including guards and barriers

Custom Options

Marion’s full line of custom options lets you partner with us to solve your process solutions.

Control

Staying competitive in today’s world requires intelligence in and on all fronts. That’s why Marion Process Solutions has invested in an expert team of talent to create intelligent solutions through smart controls. iNCONTROL™ is much more than a control system capability. It’s a toolbox of resources and knowledge that will take your machine to the next level of performance. Your smart resource from day one.  At a minimum, all control packages include:

  • An enclosure with a NEMA or IEC rating depending on the application
  • A lockable service disconnect suitable for lock-out/tag-out devices
  • Fuse or circuit breaker protection
  • E-stop and safety limit switch circuitry where applicable

High Speed Choppers

Break down dense material and speed up your mixing time with a high-speed chopper designed to run continuously without overheating. With a convenient all-in-one assembly, the high-speed chopper can be changed out in a matter of minutes, not hours, for safe and easy replacement or repairs.

Running at speeds up to 3600 rpm, the chopper effectively reduces lumps and agglomerates and breaks up liquid-rich shot balls, open-matted fibrous materials, and distributes pigments.

A geometric, built-to-last design insulates shaft seals and bearings to protect against  premature wear and tear and while preventing product contamination and leaks.

Sample chopper applications include:

  • Mixing agglomerated pigments into plastic powder to disperse the pigment and developing the color
  • Mixing resin into compacted asbestos, synthetic fiber, or fiberglass to uniformly penetrate and coat the fiber matrix
  • Blending blocks of solid shortening (or liquid shortening) into bakery mixes PVC resins, oily plasticizers, fillers and pigments
  • Blending dry pharmaceutical preparations with thick liquid binders to break up liquid-rich lumps and coat particles to produce a homogenous, compactable mix
  • Dispersing colored pigments into grout/cement mixes

Liquid, Gas or Shortening Injection Manifolds

When you need to add product to the mixer in a unique way, our liquid manifolds, shortening presses, liquid pumping units, and nitrogen blanket inlet ports can be the answer to your problem.

Integral Jackets

Suitable for steam, hot oil or water, our ASME code rated jackets with optional external insulation provide a reliable solution for products that need to be heated or cooled during the mixing process.

  • With the addition of heat, a mixer can be used to cook, dry or create a chemical reaction.
  • When cooling, the benefits include chilling, freeze drying or the ability to stabilize a chemical reaction.
  • Marion Process Solutions has experience in working with applications that require temperature ranges from +600ºF to -20ºF.
